Annual Awards
Detective Investigation of the year
To be awarded to an individual, or team of Detective officers. That in the judgement of the PFNDF, have demonstrated an outstanding ability in the field of detective work within a particular investigation, whilst having displayed the highest standards of a detective officer’s skills and abilities.
(Any Detective investigation in England or Wales is eligible to be nominated for this award at the conclusion of the case so that appropriate details may be publicised and therefore will only be eligible for inclusion for the year following the case conclusion).
Services to Detective’s
To be awarded to an individual, group or organisation. That in the Judgement of the PFNDF, have demonstrated a continuous support for the role of the Detective within policing of England and Wales. Through this support they have shown their commitment to encouraging the retention, development and/or welfare of warranted Detective officers.
Student Detective of the year
To be awarded to the student(s) that complete the National Detective examination and following all results being confirmed have scored the highest mark.
Special Recognition Award
To be awarded by the executive officers of the PFNDF to an individual, team, unit, instituation or force that in their view warrants special and unique recognition in connection with work to assist, support or promote detectives and their work. (This award is not necessarily annually given but shall be annually considered)
Exemplary Service Award
To be awarded to a member of the PFNDF Forum that in the opinion of the other Forum members has provided extraordinary and exemplary service to the PFNDF and its Aims and Objectives.
The PFNDF are proud to invite you to apply for our 2012 annual awards which are being supported by The Daily Telegraph newspaper.
We welcome their involvement in these prestigious awards to recognise excellence in detective abilities and support for the role of detectives.
The Above Awards have been created by the PFNDF to recognise the fundamental role of the Detective within Policing of England and Wales and to acknowledge those that perform and demonstrate the best qualities of the Detective and/or support the role through their committed efforts.
These awards shall be open for nomination between 1st October and the 30th April each year starting in 2010. Nominations can be made by any member of a police force within England and Wales. A nomination should include details of the nominated party(s) and the evidence that meets the criteria for the particular award simply completing our application form (In document section).
Between 1st May and 30th June the regional members of the PFNDF shall meet to examine, discuss and judge the nominations to select three in each category per year for forwarding to the final. Between the 1st July and the 31st July the executive members shall examine, discuss and judge the nominations from each of the eight regions to select a winner in each category per year. The winning nominations shall then be notified and invited to attend the PFNDF annual seminar and awards dinner later that year to receive the award as our guests. Where the award has been given to a group, team or organisation then a maximum of two persons per award shall be invited to receive the award on behalf of the group, team or organisation. The invite shall extend to the highest three entries on the investigation award nominations and the winner announced on the night of presentation.
The judgement of the PFNDF regional and executive representatives in selecting the recipients shall be final and not open to further challenge.
